The Act extends to the whole of the Punjab. This broad jurisdiction allows for the protection of diverse ecosystems, from the salt range in the north to the desert and riverine forests in the south.

The Act came into force at once, providing an immediate legal basis for the Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department to enforce conservation protocols and prevent illegal encroachment or hunting in protected zones.
