Engagement Terms & Conditions FAQs
Q. What are the general engagement terms with City Laws Associates?
A. These terms govern the relationship between City Laws Associates and clients (کلائنٹس کے ساتھ تعلقات) and can only be modified through mutual written consent (تحریری رضامندی).
Q. What is an Engagement Letter?
A. Before any work begins, a formal Engagement Letter (انگیجمنٹ لیٹر) will be drafted. It confirms the scope of services, Terms of Reference, and authorizes the firm to act on behalf of the client for activities like complaints, claims, verifications, deposits, orders, or other relevant documents. The firm will not settle lawsuits or disputes without prior client approval.
Q. How is the engagement managed?
A. Each client is assigned a dedicated associate (مخصوص ایسوسی ایٹ) as the primary contact. Tasks may be delegated to other staff for efficiency or to involve specialists, ensuring timely and professional service.
Q. How are professional fees determined?
A. Fees (پیشہ ورانہ فیس) are fair and reasonable, based on the complexity and time required for legal processes.
Q. Are clients responsible for additional expenses?
A. Yes. Clients must pay expenses including:
Court Fees (عدالتی فیس)
Publications (اشاعت)
Certified Copies (سرٹیفائیڈ کاپیاں)
Court Reporting (عدالتی رپورٹنگ)
Notary or Commissioner’s Fees (نوٹری یا کمشنر کی فیس)
Other miscellaneous expenses arranged by the firm (دیگر متفرق اخراجات)
Q. What happens if dues are not paid on time?
A. Clients must make timely payments (بروقت ادائیگی). If payments are overdue for more than 30 days, the firm may suspend legal work until dues are cleared.
Q. Can clients terminate the engagement?
A. Yes, clients can terminate at any time, with or without cause, by giving written notice (تحریری نوٹس) to withdraw the Engagement Letter. Termination does not exempt clients from fees and expenses incurred before termination or for a proper transition of services.
Q. Does termination affect prior fees and charges?
A. No. Clients remain responsible for all fees and expenses accrued before termination (پہلے سے ہونے والی فیس اور اخراجات کی ذمہ داری برقرار رہتی ہے).
